The challenges of designing a loyalty program.

Loyalty programs allow customers to earn credit for completing transactions with your brand. Customers can use those points for a future sale by converting them in payment towards products, gifts or discounts. You must provide them with a method to track the rewards they’ve earned.

 

UNDERSTAND REQUIREMENT & DEFINE OBJECTIVES

In order to provide a solution, I need to understand the problem and define the objectives.

Empathize with the users (learning about the audience)

A storyboard helps visualize the users’ actions and also the environment in which they take place. While mostly used for empathizing with the users, storyboards can also be used in the ideation phase to help illustrate some of the design choices.

When you spend money at Starbucks using your registered card or a card on the Starbucks app you earn points. Each dollar spent on drinks, food, or other standard merchandise equals 2 stars. When you have earned 125 stars you get a free drink or food item.
